Purchasing reprint rights
Print or electronic publishers who are interested in purchasing a one-time right to reprint (or repost) an article copyrighted on this site are invited to contact TLD publisher and president W. Thomas McPherren at:Naturally, we encourage Website operators to post links to whatever they want on the TLD site. The URL for columns or articles appears at the top right of their page. (That feature may be missing from pieces posted long ago that I haven't yet upgraded. Site operators should drop me a line if they need assistance in determining URLs.)
Publishers, site operators, and e-mail list operators who poach a TLD article must make things right by immediately remitting a check or m.o. for U.S.$50 (for a typical stand-alone article) and by undertaking to go and sin no more. A graver offense — for instance, poaching an especially long article or an entire series — entails a stiffer penalty. So does a repeated offense. "Make-right" checks or money orders should be made payable to WTM Enterprises and sent to:

Printing out articles for personal reading off line or photocopying them for limited noncommercial distribution to friends is "fair use." But any copies given to friends must contain all the relevant information about TLD appearing in the on-line article, including our URL and the WTME copyright notice. The author's byline must also be included, naturally. In addition, I hope you will urge recipients to make a "free-will offering" to our desperately cash-poor little forum.
