I appreciate your analysis of that incident. But couldn't it be that those 
people were deliberately provoked to such a reaction in order to have them 
killed,slaughtered, because that was the wishes of Donald Rumesfield, our 
mighty secretary of defense, offense, after all? Also I am wondering for how 
long before when the Northern Alliance will become our new favorite evil 
incarnate?!!

Thanks for your comments. While I wouldn't put such a scheme past Mr.
Rumsfeld, I doubt that the massacre was his idea, at least at the
beginning: (1) because these captured fighters were small potatoes; (2)
because the CIA probably did want intelligence from them; and (3) 
because I don't think the CIA agents would have done what they did if 
they knew what the reaction was going to be.

However, it is quite possible that the Northern Alliance was looking for
an excuse to kill these people, and that they allowed the weapons in for
that purpose.

As to your speculation about the Northern Alliance becoming the United 
States's future enemies -- you took the words right out of my mouth.
